Happy Veterans Day!
I have several Veterans throughout my lineage including my dad, my own personal hero. Veterans Day is a day to celebrate all who have answered the call to service – old, young, past and present. They bravely answered the call to service so that we can continue to enjoy freedom in our beautiful country. There is nothing more inspiring than someone who will proudly give all to protect the freedom of a nation of people.
“As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that our highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them.”
John F. Kennedy
Being in the service isn’t for all of us, but there is something everyone can do. Be thankful to those who are brave enough to answer the call and do our part to make our nation a better place at home. This means something different to everyone. To me, it means to teach my kids what this national holiday is about, thanking our nation’s defenders. It means talking to them about all their family members who have been in the service. Teach them to thank a military person when we see them. Explain to them why we call them heroes.
From the bottom of my very patriotic heart, thank you to all the Veterans who have forged the way to this country’s freedom and thank you to all those who have defended it. You are all heroes.
Proudly hang your flags today. Happy Veterans Day! And thank you to all who have served.
